BPC-157

What is BPC-157?

BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) originally isolated as a partial sequence from a larger protein found in human gastric juice. Molecular formula C62H98N16O22, molecular weight 1419.556 g/mol. Unlike many peptides, BPC-157 is stable in gastric acid.

Research mechanism

Published research has examined the following mechanisms:

• Angiogenesis signaling — studies have investigated interaction with the VEGF pathway and nitric oxide system in tissue repair models.
• Fibroblast activity — research has examined effects on fibroblast migration and collagen deposition in wound-healing models.
• Gastrointestinal cytoprotection — literature explores effects on ulcer models and intestinal barrier function.
• Musculoskeletal repair — animal studies have investigated tendon-to-bone healing and muscle recovery endpoints.

Physical properties & handling

Reconstitute a 5 mg vial with 1.0 mL bacteriostatic water for a 5 mg/mL working concentration. Slight yellowish tint after reconstitution is normal. Refrigerate 2–8°C; use within 28 days.
