What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide analog of the immunomodulatory tetrapeptide tuftsin, extended with Pro-Gly-Pro for stability. Extensively studied in Russian pharmacological literature.
Research mechanism
Published research has examined the following mechanisms:
- Enkephalin degradation modulation — effects on enkephalinase in animal studies.
- GABAergic system — anxiolytic endpoints without sedation in animal models.
- BDNF expression — hippocampal tissue effects in research models.
- Immunomodulation — interferon response and immune cell activity.
Note: All mechanism data is from published research. Not FDA-approved for human use.
