What is Ipamorelin?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide developed as a selective growth hormone secretagogue. Unlike earlier GHRPs, research has shown minimal effect on cortisol, prolactin, or ACTH release.
Research mechanism
Published research has examined the following mechanisms:
- GHS-R1a agonism — selective binding on pituitary somatotrophs, calcium signaling and GH release in animal models.
- Selectivity — negligible activation of cortisol/ACTH/LH/FSH pathways.
- Pulsatile release — pattern more resembling endogenous GH pulses.
- Synergy with GHRH analogs — combined administration examined in animal models.
